About Sinead

Sinead Foley is a passionate and experienced horticulturist with a diverse background that bridges science, business, and design. With a BSc in Mathematics, Statistics, and Psychology from University College Cork, she began her career as a marketing executive with Golden Vale (Champion Cheese), before ultimately finding her true calling in the world of plants and landscapes.

Her journey into gardening began with a Diploma in Amenity Horticulture, awarded with distinction from the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin. Since then, Sinead has cultivated a rich and varied career in horticulture. She has worked as a self-employed gardener in Dublin, co-founded Greengrass Landscaping, and served as a horticulturist at Cuan Mhuire Garden Centre in Bruree. She also held the prestigious role of Head Gardener at Glin Castle, a historic estate known for its beautiful and demanding gardens.

Sinead now manages a wide client base, offering tailored garden design, planting, and maintenance services. Her work blends practical expertise with creative vision, creating gardens that are both beautiful and sustainable.

In addition to her professional practice, Sinead is also a horticulture instructor with PALLS (Probation and Linkage Scheme) in Limerick, where she shares her knowledge and inspires others to engage with the natural world.

Gardening, for Sinead, is where science, creativity, and connection come together. It’s about understanding how things grow—and helping people connect with their environment in a meaningful way. Whether it’s designing a garden that enhances a space or restoring life to a neglected plot, Sinead finds joy in nurturing beauty and growth.
